To understand this unbelievable incident, we will have to go to New Guinea. We will have to go inside the sea connected to it. And the day was 18 November 1961, when early in the morning, 23-year-old Michael Rockefeller, along with his very small crew, was trying repeatedly to start the engine attached to his boat inside this river. Actually, these people had come here travelling from a very far distance. This small boat of about 40 feet long was inside the Bird Tat. About 1½ miles before reaching the Bird Tat, the engine of their boat failed, and Michael tried repeatedly to start the engine again by pulling its rope, but the engine did not start. After that, the two people who owned the boat were also riding inside the same boat, and they too tried repeatedly to pull the rope attached to the engine, but even then, the boat did not start.

Actually, at that moment, this boat was at the mouth of the river from where that river was going directly into the sea, or else inside the sea. But the problem here was that if their engine did not start, then due to the flow of the river, they would go further away from the river. Where they were now just 1½ miles away. If this boat had not started for some more time, then they would not have been able to bring their boat near the river. Slowly, water started filling inside the boat as well. Now it was a tense matter. Slowly, this boat had moved closer to the sea, where the current was even faster. The waves were very heavy. So water was repeatedly coming inside the boat with the waves, which was increasing its weight. And slowly the boat was sinking further inside.

Actually, the purpose of all these people, including Michael Rockefeller, was to go and meet the Asmat tribe people living near this place. They had come here to see them. Specifically, Michael Rockefeller himself was very obsessed with the Asmat tribe people because he was very fond of the artwork done by the Asmat tribe people, particularly the bicycles, which were made only by the Asmat tribe people in the whole world. Very special people who were living within this tribe, living within this tribe, only they had the capability. Cutting any big tree into pieces and doing your work inside it to make big buildings. And Michael liked this thing very much.

If you look at any bispool, you will actually feel that these are not trees but statues of humans standing one above the other. But in reality, they have been made from a single tree. They have been designed in such a way that, looking at them, it appears as if humans have been made to stand one above the other. But for the people of the Asmat tribe, this was not a craft but a ritual for them. Whenever there was a fight between the people of this Asmat tribe and people of other tribes, or any small or big war took place in which many of their people lost their lives, the people of the tribe in front also lost their lives; now what is their ritual, the other people do not know. But in this, the people of the tribe had a ritual that if any person died while fighting in their tribe, then a bispool was prepared in his name and the name of the dead person was written on the shadow of this bispool and they kept it like a mark and these people believed that the soul of the dead person will be absorbed inside this bispool and he will remain alive among us forever.
